Flower Harvest
What a beautiful harvest sitting in the wintergarden for drying.
Left: Chamomile, rich in the polyphenol Quercetin, very soothing for the digestive system, calming for the nerves and antiallergenic. Right: Safflower. In Portugal they use the dried (and sometimes ground to a powder) leafs a lot as a spice and colorant in various dishes, like soups, as a saffron substitute. Not so many health benefits like saffron, but still some, like most vibrantly colorful edible things from mother nature. I like to put them in little satin bags and give them as gift to good friends or use them as decoration in food photography.
